With 2 weeks left in the season mentality is playoff style hockey...every game counts. This led to my pregame speech...
Will was pumped up by it...
Standing in our way to a much-needed 2 game win streak was the Mariners, who were certainly looking to get a win for themselves. The game plays pretty even for the first 5 minutes in a 1-1 tie and then the VAW line (Vinny, Austin, Will) decided to pocket two goals to give us a 3-1 lead. We carried the momentum into the 2nd with 6 more goals to the Mariners 1 and from there we went into cruise control mode. Game ends 9-3 Aerostars.
What a game by the boys. Exceptional play from everyone. The VAW line puts up some video game numbers tonight with the 3 combining for 18pts. The pregame speech must have got Will going or it was his pregame dump...we can never know. He gets double patches tonight taking home the hat trick and playmaker (3g, 4a). Hopefully, he isn't peaking too early.
Final game of the season next week and we take on the Mavs. Still a lot to play for as the game will decide what seed we get.
