Marauders Game Write Up:

Week 13 and the Raud squad is looking to extend their win streak to 9. Unfortunately for both teams, the 5pm bug bit pretty hard. Marauders were marauding their way into the locker room up until puck drop, but we were able to put together a full squad by the end of the first. The Mariners were not as lucky, forced to roll with only 3 on the bench.

The story of this game was pretty simple. The Mariners were depleted and still managed to put forth a ton of offense. Caldwell was Cald'wall' and didn't give the Mariners a chance to take the lead. The young bucks stepped up and scored when they had the chance.

3 quick notes:
  1. POG goes to Caldwell. He stood on his head as usual and gave the Mariners zero chances at rebounds.
  2. We will see if we can turn the nine game streak into a ten game streak against the Diesels next week.
  3. Every Rauder had a point in this game. Great contribution from the entire squad.

Mariners Game Write Up:

Mariners come into this game already down 3 players when Luebke gets sabotaged and can't  make it. No time to get someone for the 5pm so we roll with 8 skaters against the mighty first place Marauders. The Marauders strike first and second with a couple of fortuitous bounces that find their way into the back of our net. Seriously these guys are good enough they don't need any help from the hockey gods but we soldier on and manage to get the next one and get the score to 2-1. The Marauders come back with two more to stretch the lead but we battled back again with a nice bar down goal from Upplegger. The old coach nets his second of the night off a rebound to cut the lead back down to 1. Again the Marauders show why they are one of the top teams and storm back with three more goals in the third. We manage another goal late in the third from Rhett but are unable to get any more past Brendan. The game was much closer than the final score with Brendan making several great saves and the Rauds just getting pieces of some other great chances. Big thanks to Riley and Robson for subbing.
