Cobras Game Write Up:

After a what seemed to be a short summer the FHL is back in action!

The Cobras come out flatter than a 2x4 and go down 5-0 within the first 5 minutes of the game. Fortunately we got settled down and closed the gap a bit in the 2nd period. We carry our improved play into the third period but the mountain from the first was just a little too tough climb as the Edsels ice us 6-3.

Felt good to be back on the ice!

Edsels Game Write Up:

the edsels came flying out the gates in the FHL opener vs the defending champions, with a solid 5-0 lead at the end of the 1st. after playing all of last year and spring together, the edsels kept on rolling the PP&P line to success. ryan pearson notched a 1st period hat trick that wouldve been a natural one if not interrupted by someone who only scores once a year while subbing. john pearson showed who still wears the pants in the house and bagged one to round out the scoring.

cobras gained momentum as the game went on, scoring twice in the 2nd. ryan pearson extended the lead with a late period goal, his fourth of the game.

cobras pulled one more back early in the third, but the edsels honed it back in defensively and saw out the rest of the game.

pearson may have bagged 5 pts and petro may have had 4 assists, but the player of the game was definitely gadulka fresh off hip surgery that shortened his season last year. homie didnt skip a beat and wouldve had a shutout if it werent for the dudes in front of him slacking a bit.

stick taps to chris vincent skipping his son's birthday to sub, and to adam gorski for being a sub then not being a sub last minute.
