This season has certainly had it's way with the Diesels.  The team morale has been solid like many years past, but from week to week the bad bounces have just piled on.  Even this week, the first goal given up was one that could be considered a bad break when a puck trickled through Hodgson and while the D tried to push it underneath their goal tender the reaction to fall back to smother it actually pushed it in by the smallest of margin!  Like all the weeks prior, the Diesels, did not quit and continued to play a pretty solid game.  Russ was in great form and holding us off routinely.  Just before the midway point in the 3rd, the Fiesta struck again with McCaig exposing the Diesels defense and getting a bone crushing 2-0 lead.  As mentioned before, the Diesels continue to play with a strong will to win.  They finally get on the board with 3:38 left in the game with a great zone entry by Ruben who finds Nico cross ice and then quickly sends it far post to Riley crasing the net for the easy tap in!  Next shift an offensive faceoff win by Nate is tipped back by Lubig to Hajec, who fires the cannon top shelf on the screened Russ.  2-2 with just under 3 to play.  All of the momentum was with the Diesels now and they capitalize again on another sound play by Ruben to hold the zone and Aaron Davis getting the puck in the hands of Riley who had to wheel around the faceoff dot to the slot and bury it five hole for the lead!  3-2 Diesels with 1:30 to go!  Fiesta go on the attack having multiple offensive zone faceoffs, but cannot find a way to get it by Hodson.  Final seconds tick away and Donaldson was able to clear one out that had a sprinting Riley pick up and bury it in the empty net just before time expired.  Hell of a win and beyond due for the Black and Yellow!
