SuperChiefs Game Write Up:

Jensen's write up is spot on. Battle for 1st place was the toughest game we've played so far this season. We competed hard for the full game despite the last second score by the Marauders. Much needed bye week this week to relax and enjoy some turkey, and pie with family friends before a tough stretch in December.

Marauders Game Write Up:

Week 10 of the FHL is upon us, and the 2 top teams were facing off against each other in this one.

This game had playoff vibes throughout. Both teams vying for that top spot in the league.

The SuperChiefs knew exactly what time the game started this week and wasted no time jumping all over the Raud Squad. The Raud Rep hung his goalie out to dry and Riley and Vincent made him pay with a nice tic-tac-toe in the first 15 seconds. Luckily for the Marauders, the FHL makes us play the full 29 minutes and 57 seconds. We wasted little time getting ourselves back into the game. Jack “of all trades” fires one in glove side off a pass from Bazzy and Timmy. A couple minutes later the rookie Rauder, Pearson, decides to get in on the scoring by picking off a pass and firing one in on the short side. But the first period scoring wouldn’t stop there as the Rep and the Rook would go give-and-go, to give the Marauders the 3-1 lead. The SuperChiefs are a good team, and they weren’t going to just let us waltz into the second with a 2-goal lead. The Raud Rep serves up a nice juicy pizza up the middle to Vincent who feeds it to Riley for the score.

The two teams traded goals in the second. One more from Rookie Pearson and one from Lauth. It felt like we controlled most of the period but couldn’t muster much more than the 1 goal. The goon squad also couldn’t help themselves from sitting in the box. Which, it’s hard to blame us considering what good company Scottie is.

The third period provided us with an epic finish from the two top teams. In the first minute, a lucky bounce off Caldwell finds the puck in Will’s chest and into an empty net. Tie game with a ton of time left. The rest of the game was an absolute battle with neither team able to find the breakthrough goal. With 10 seconds left, both teams start to settle into the fact that they can’t break the tie. But not Spazzy Bazzy. He picks up a pass from Pearson and takes the puck the length of the ice, puts on a little move and finds just enough space under Krichiver’s arm to get the puck in the back of the net. Necessary celly ensued.

Three quick notes:

1.       POG goes to Spazzy for the huge game winning goal and for never giving up.

2.       Great game and great time afterwards at Trina’s. Another great showing.

3.       Huge shoutout to the Raud Squad Veterans this past Veterans Day. We didn’t play last week so I didn’t get a chance to say it, but thank you Soper, Renner, and Taz for your service.
