Another big test this week for the Diesels (goon squad) with the high-flying Model T's and their perennial Sniper candidate, now Rep, Cowart. Diesels were down 2 players and tap on former Diesel stud, Lauth, and lean on dancing bear, Filar, to fill the voids. Boy did they! Lauth nets 2 and Filar plays lights out, except for the one play we won't all about... Nate the skate has a breakout performance with 1G, 2A. Bret Malone gets in on the action with a 2 point night including the GWG! Coach Deke finally gets his first goal of the season. All around, the entire team stepped up again and are showing some early season signs that the Diesels will be tough each week. Another stellar performance from Rookie goaltender, Stein.

Travis Parent Bobblehead Night was a hit at the Lincoln Park Civic Center! The first 8 fans got their bobbleheads signed by TP himself. His post-game presser pulled the Model Ts' attention away from hitting the ice and preparing for the Diesels, and we fell behind early 2-0. We battled back to tie it 2-2, but ran out of gas to finish off the comeback.
Rookie goaltender Stein was excellent all night and kept rebounds under control. With both teams skating hard, it felt like a playoff game. Chris Robillard, Rosen, and Caldwell are true workhorses for the Diesels.
I think we're all itching to get back on the ice next week. The Model Ts are showing plenty of heart and effort, and they're playing to the whistle for all 3 periods. We're still shaking off the offseason rust, but the vibes in the locker room are high right now.
Up next: Sticks & Pucks from 3:30 to 4:50 pm, then Model Ts vs. SuperChiefs at 5 pm.
