Torinos Game Write Up:

No score board makes for a rough debut for the LP arena and an out of shape roster wondering when a period will end. The Diesels came out hot but FHL rookie Ordo strikes first for the 1st goal in Torino's history. After coughin up a couple in the second and seeing what Poodle had for lunch the squad put together a solid effort to pull out the tie. The search for the first franchise victory continues next week vs the Superchiefs who will be without their leading goal scorer Filar.

Diesels Game Write Up:

Diesels are back for 2026!

Season opener kicks off against former Diesel, Jeff D. and his newly formed Torinos.  Pace of play seemed pretty quick although the lack of the score board made it seem like the 1st period lasted forever!  Torinos strike first late in the opening period.  Diesels answer quickly with a shot pass from coach Deke to Rosen on the side of the net tipping it perfectly to the net.  All tied up 1-1 after 1.  Diesels keep the momentum in the second period with 2 more from Nate, the skate, Radl and another silky move by Rosen.  Game seemed to be well in hand for the Diesels, but week 1 legs started to fail and the Torinos kept pressing.  Easton Rea netted one midway in the second and rookie netminder, Stein, had to fend off a slurry of shots for the rest of the game.  Late in the 3rd period, the Diesels take their eye off Gorski and let him slip by the D with under a minute to go.  He makes no mistake and ties it up with the breakaway goal.

One of those ties that felt like a loss with the way we gave that one up, but overall, it was a great start to the season and the team looks like it should be in it for the long haul!

Next up we take on the defending champs!
