The air was filled with the smells of dried sweat and beer in Lincoln Park Monday night as the FHL was back and in full force. It is great to be back as the Raud Squad looks to defend their title.

Our week 1 challenge would be against the new ModelT franchise and 4 former Champion Marauders who would love nothing more than to take down their old Rep. Unfortunately for them, the new look Raud Squad was not interested in obliging.

To start things off the old veteran Raud Rep had to show the rookies how to score in the FHL by slipping one past Killer early in the first. Fette gets the assist on this one for his FHL point. The rookie Fette was fantastic in this game and was everything we needed him to be going +3 on the evening. Joe Z added to the scoring party by creating a turnover and going end to end on his own. The Playoff MVP picked up right where he left off last season.

Joe Z would go on to add two more, one off a shot from the Rep and one all on his own again. The Ts made a valiant effort to come back, but Cannon was on his game and wasn’t going to let that happen. The Marauder netminder was the well-deserved POG. Rookies Chance, Junior, and Scarantino all had great games as well in their debut, with better games yet to come as they kick off some rust. Huge thanks to Schultzy and McLean for subbing and playing great. Walker gets the award for best off-ice performance, putting in the hours both in the rink and in the bar.

Great first week boys!! On to the next one against the Diesels.

We're back! It was Championship Ring Ceremony night for the Marauders before the game. The scoreboard was on the fritz, but it hardly mattered since we couldn't score on Cannon. The Model Ts came out flying early and energy was high. We fell behind after goals from Jensen and Joey Z, and spent the rest of the game fighting an uphill battle. With three of our four drafted d-men out, we had to roll with a three-d. Legs feed the wolves, boys! Ryan Soz notched the first goal in Model Ts franchise history, and rookie Jordan Guske looked like a real building block for the future — great work by the front office scouting this offseason. Chris Deroche picked up a smooth five-hole goal on their red-hot Cannon in the third. In the end, we ran out of legs and time, but word is the full squad as drafted will be back next week. A few strange bounces went against us out there, but we're going to keep improving every week.

Thank you Colarusso & the freshly self demoted 2.5 Filar for subbing in this one.
